Orlando Vincente Lewis

Orlando (OV) Vincente Lewis (53), of Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away peacefully at his home January 3, 2026. Born January 15, 1972 in Meridian, Mississippi, OV has never married. He was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from South HIgh School in Minneapolis, Minnesota Class of 1990. He attended Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota playing football as the Center position. OV is survived by his mother, Helen Marie Lewis, his father, Turhan Tyrone Ruffin (Patricia), his daughter, Natasha McEwen (David), his son, Elijah Lewis, his sister, Chandra Johnson (Herb), his sister, Shantae Ruffin, his sister, Shanae Ruffin, his sister, Angela Ruffin, his brother, Jermaine Ruffin, his granddaughters, Tania and Tameka McEwen, his nephews, Harrison and Hamiltn Johnson, Tyrell and Trevon Ruffin, his nieces, Tashiyah and Tymeira Ruffin, and his fiance, Ann Honkala along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. OV held many titles as a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, etc. but the most paramount title he held is a child of God. OV was known for his ability to talk and connect with others. He never knew a stranger. He had a way of making people laugh and feel comfortable. OV touched the lives of so many people with a passion for love, caring, kindness and compassion. OV enjoyed life and lived it as a never ending party. He believed life is a present and should always be celebrated. OV was known for taking pictures and videos everywhere he went. Regardless of your participation, he captured all aspects of life. He has captured over 10,000 memorable moments by either picture or video. In his passing, it has brought us joy to see how he viewed life. The most important thing in OV's life is family. He most treasured his children; Natasha and Elijah, as well as his inherited children; Angelina, Michele and Malachi. OV loved sports (basketball and football the most) and believed the children should always be engaged in activities, especially sports even if they didn't want to. OV had Tasha in basketball, soccer, track and dance and Elijah in football, basketball, soccer and baseball. The biggest love of his life are his grandchildren; Tania and Tameka. At any given time he would be found taking Tania to the park, walking behind her while she rode her bicycle or scooter or just doing anything she wanted to do because she was Papa's baby. The twinkle is still in his eye with anticipation to meet Tameka (born November 2025) for the first time. We all know he longed greatly to hold her close in his hands and arms. Each of us hold memories so near of all the love shared by OV. The family holds true that you will cherish all of the memories and hold them near to your heart. We know these memories will provide the comfort that you need.
