Beverly Mae Larkin

Beverly Mae (Mosby) Larkin was born in Minneapolis, MN on January 27, 1952, to William Mosby and Sophie (Williams) Mosby. She attended Minneapolis schools from elementary to college. One of her many achievements was attending Brown University for Business and Marketing, where she excelled. Beverly met Ivory Lee Larkin in 1968 and they married on December 3, 1972. From that union, they had two beautiful children, Jacquard Montece Larkin and Neoka Nini Larkin. Later in life, Beverly was blessed with her only grandchild, Ashley Mae Larkin, whom she took great joy in raising and spending time with. Beverly worked at Honeywell for 25 years. She began in data processing and because she was a fast typist and a quick and intelligent learner, was promoted through the ranks rapidly. She also was involved in the Central Neighborhood Association for years, where she became engaged in politics, polling and community youth work. Beverly loved working in the community and loved working on our earth doing gardening, organic food prep and healthy eating. Among other wonderful things, Beverly was the ultimate humanitarian. Beverly was always busy doing the things she loved most singing, going to church, gardening, fishing, jewelry making, sewing, making Bountiful Products that nourished the body, and meeting people. She never met a person who didn’t become a friend; she drew them in with her love and light. Beverly also enjoyed traveling all over the world to new places and new adventures. She fully embraced life. Everyone who knows Beverly knows she was a church girl. Her deep commitment to God was the center of everything she did; the church was Beverly’s life. She was a faithful member of First Church of God in Christ for many years. Later, she became a founding member and Elder of Kwanzaa Community Church (later Liberty Community Church), which she loved dearly and called her home. She remained in active leadership until her passing. Of her many gifts, Beverly was known as “The Beautiful Songbird” of her family. Her voice was golden and a true gift from God. She sang in many choirs, churches, and groups, and is known throughout the musical community in Minnesota. Beverly was a remarkable woman who radiated life in every possible way. She had a zest for life and was always full of so much energy. She was always an optimist who found joy and beauty in most everything. She carried a perpetual twinkle in her eyes. In Beverly’s memory, we hope to find inspiration to live life to the fullest and to embrace each day giving glory to God. Her journey was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, and her memory continues to remind us to savor every moment and make the most of the time we have. Beverly leaves behind her brother, William Mosby; her son, Jacquard Larkin and his fiancé, Tracy Lindsey; her daughter, Neoka Larkin; and her granddaughter, Ashley Larkin; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, family, and friends, who she loved very much. Beverly will be greatly missed.
