August Foss Jr

August “Justin” Arnold Foss, Jr. was carried by Angels to heaven on September 13, 2025. He was born to August Arnold Foss Sr. and Marcella Henrichs Foss on August 29, 1951, in Hendricks, Minnesota. He graduated high school from Marshall, Minnesota and served the US Army as an Honor Guard in Korea and surrounding areas, the discharged with military honors. After settling in the Twin Cities he worked as the Director of Nexus (working with juvenile sex offenders), then transitioned into owner/operator of his furnace and duct cleaning business. Later he worked with the Red Cross as a very successful phlebotomist and finally to Clean Harbors. “Big Guy” always had an ear to listen and sound advice to offer. He worked to help those he cared for to live an authentic life without shame or fear. He loved music, a good card game, being near or on water and westerns! He helped create a family of many branches with his wife and “Honey” Patricia. (So great he married her twice!) Their home was open to all the friends of their children, and a safe place to even more. The backyard and pool the hub of too many stories to write Justin was a caretaker of many, and loved by more than he knew. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years Patricia (Fritza) Foss, their children and grandchildren and sister Suzanne Tonseth in Seattle, WA. Sons: Kevin Porterfield (wife Katherine (Katie) Trousedale, son Thomas, and daughter Caroline) Justin Rowlandson Adam Foss (wife Jennifer (Jenn) son Cole and daughter Izzy), Nicholas Foss (Nick) daughter Desirae Dr. Dawn Anderson (husband Michael Saless (Mike) daughters Nora Hugo June, Claire August Angela, son Issac) Dr. Elizabeth Nelson (husband Nicholas White, sons Logan and Sebastian).
