From the family of Andrew Claude McDowell Andrew “Drew” Claude McDowell, 55 was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He peacefully passed away in his adopted hometown of Minnetonka, Minnesota on February 26, 2022 surrounded by family. Andrew Claude McDowell was born July 25, 1966 to Ruth Bernstein McDowell and Harold Eugene McDowell in Chicago, Illinois at Cook County Hospital. He was the fifth born among twelve children. Andrew began his education by attending A.O Sexton Elementary and graduated high school from Hyde Park Career Academy in 1984. He later earned an A.S. degree in computer science at the Computer Learning Center in Chicago 1987. At 16, Andrew met the love of his life Quana Denise Mask through a mutual friend on the South Side of Chicago in the Hyde Park neighborhood on a hot summer day. Andrew was captivated by her beauty and sweet disposition. Andrew was very persistent and was able to win over Quana’s heart. They would eventually marry on February 9th 1993. The Lord later blessed the couple with a beautiful daughter Sophia Drew McDowell and a few years later with a son Caleb Zion McDowell. From that point Andrew had set no limit on the goals and accomplishments he wanted for his family. Initially Andrew began working a job for a few years in his chosen field of computers but was driven to achieve his main goal of starting his own computer company. GreenSquad Recycle was Andrew’s pride and joy. He loved what he did and was an amazing boss to his employees and appreciated by his clients who used his service. Andrew’s business acumen allowed him to be well recognized by his clients and fellow business owners within his community. He was also able to extend his reach by establishing solid relationships outside of Minnesota as well as internationally. Andrew was more than a business man he was amazing brother and friend. Andrew was full of love, kindness and was a generous giver to anyone in need. He especially took great pride in being able to help his siblings, nieces and nephews. Andrews business advice, spiritual wisdom and open generosity were priceless. Andrew is preceded in death by his mother Ruth McDowell, brother Harold McDowell, sister Harolyn Day and nephew Eugene McDowell. Andrew leaves as his legacy, his loving wife of 29 years Quana Denise McDowell and two children Sophia Drew McDowell and Caleb Zion McDowell. Andrew also leaves to cherish his memory his father Harold Eugene McDowell ,stepmom Anise McDowell, nine siblings and in-laws of late siblings. Ardennia “Pippi”Fentress-Leahy( Daniel), late Harold McDowell(Emma), late Harolyn Day(Ron), Shawna Campbell(Kenneth), Georgia Bell (Corey), Ariel McDowell, Hana Mitchell(Tyree), Taima McDowell, Michael McDowell, Autumn McDowell and Austin McDowell(Helen). Andrew was so love by his father-in-law Jimmy Mask and mother-in-law Dolores Mask. Also he leaves behind his brother-in-law Anthony Mask. Additionally, he leaves behinds many nieces and nephews as well as uncles, aunts, cousins and his Christian family and friends. Andrew’s family will have a private Celebration of Life Memorial to be held in person on May 21, 2022 at 2pm eastern time, along with Zoom for those not attending.
