Obituary Sheila Odessa Royston, age 50, passed away on December 1, 2020 after a courageous four-year battle with complications of congested heart failure. She was the youngest daughter born to Lillie Mae and John Wesley Lewis in Kansas City, MO. She was united in marriage on September 26,1994 in Kansas City, MO to Charles D. Royston Sr. Sheila finished her formal education in Kansas City, MO. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years, and house manager for Hope for the People until her health started to fail. She was a loving and spunky woman that was a fighter. She was an amazing mother and wife that loved to cook and feed people. She could cook anything except chocolate chip pancakes. She has transitioned to be with God, her father John Wesley Lewis, Grandmother, Van Viola Watson, and father-in-law, Charles L. Royston. She is gone but will never be forgotten. Sheila touched and was LOVED by many who called her “Mom”. She will be TRULY and DEEPLY missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Charles Royston Sr; sons, John Lewis and Joshua Lewis, both of Kansas City, MO, son, Charles Royston Jr, and daughter, Dorothy Louise Royston, both of St. Paul, MN.; her mom, Lillie Mae Lewis and a sister, Renessa Lewis, both of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Joshua Jr, DaVontae, Raheem, China, Londyn, Zoey and King Lewis; nieces Ebony Lewis and Maqayyah Hicks both of Kansas City, MO; Uncle, Ellie Watson of Atlanta, GA; cousin, Nicole Dowdell (Lester) of Burnsville, MN; mother-in-law, Dorothy Stinson-Royston of Falcon Heights, MN; sister-in-law, Saundra (Melvin) McKissic) of Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law, Christopher (Roshonda) Royston of Brooklyn Park, MN; and a host of aunts, cousins and other family and friends.
